AVENCREST BUYER GUIDE

Gulfstream G700 vs Bombardier Global 8000

The better aircraft is the one that fits your journeys and the particular airframe you can acquire. A headline range figure or a beautiful cabin photograph is not enough to decide between these two models.

Start with your recurring journeys

Write down your five most frequent city pairs, usual passenger numbers, luggage and expected annual utilisation. Separate frequent trips from the exceptional journey you may fly once a year. Ask your flight operations adviser to assess both types against the same payload, seasonal weather, routing and reserve assumptions. Manufacturer maximum range is a comparison reference, not a promise of a nonstop flight.

Compare the installed cabin, not a marketing concept

Request the actual floorplan for each aircraft. Count certified passenger seats separately from sleeping positions. Check whether the principal can rest while other passengers eat or work, where crew rest is situated, and whether access to a lavatory disturbs a private room. Examine the installed connectivity, galley equipment and baggage access. Equipment shown in a model gallery may not be fitted to the aircraft offered.

Build an evidence-based shortlist

Obtain aircraft year, airframe and engine hours, maintenance status, modification records and programme details. Ask an independent specialist which inspection items and upcoming events matter for each candidate. A newer-looking interior does not establish technical condition. Identify documents still missing before arranging a viewing or negotiating around an assumed specification.

Compare ownership on the same basis

Request itemised ownership budgets from appropriate operators or management providers for your planned base and utilisation. Separate acquisition, crew, training, hangar, insurance, scheduled maintenance, reserves and trip-variable costs. Record exclusions and the date of each quote. Do not compare one provider’s all-in estimate with another provider’s fuel-only number.

The next useful step

Create two short lists: non-negotiable requirements and preferences. Compare the actual G700 and Global 8000 against those lists, with a dated evidence pack beside each. Keep unresolved points visible. Your next conversation should resolve a specific question about an aircraft, not simply ask which model is best.
